Job Opening: Elementary 1 (6-9) - Lead Teacher

Job Description: Fox Valley Montessori School is looking for a qualified Elementary Teacher for the E1 classroom (6-9years old). This position has become available due to internal staff advancement. The E1 Teacher will lead the class in an established Elementary program and will work collaboratively with the E1 and E2 teams. The E1 Teacher will oversee the academic, social, and emotional development of students through the preparation and delivery of a Montessori-based curriculum.

Responsibilities Include: lesson planning, guiding students in their learning activities, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, maintaining open communication with families, and ensuring alignment with the school's philosophy and values. The teacher will also be expected to contribute actively to the school community and attend relevant training sessions.

Qualifications:
- Montessori teaching certification required (in process of obtaining certification will also be considered for best candidates)
- Proven experience in teaching and nurturing young learners
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with students, families, and staff
- Passion for education with a commitment to the Montessori philosophy
- Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging educational environment
- Prior experience as an elementary educator is strongly preferred

Founded in 1969, FVMS was established as a not-for-profit corporation in response to the needs of the community. It is a private, nonsectarian school which has been nationally accredited by the American Montessori Society. In fact, our school is among only a select few nationally-accredited Montessori schools in Illinois. Each school is staffed with Montessori trained teachers certified by the American Montessori Society and/or the Association Montessori Internationale. In securing the services of professional and volunteer personnel, the Board strives to secure the person most qualified for the position.
